Position Overview
The principal role of the Manager – Logistics is to manage all activities around shipping, packaging, onsite delivery, and customs clearance. Provide on demand support to the international team, when it comes expediting on-time delivery.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for all activities around Shipping.
- Coordination of shipments, including paperwork.
- Register shipments by freight forwarder.
- Ensure on time delivery, while having the highest quality of shipment by having lowest price.
- Current follow-up on all shipment issues.
- Maintain an internal and external contact person for all shipping questions.
- Importation/Exportation including necessary paperwork.
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
- Knowledge and understanding of International Trade Compliance, identify, report and resolve any trade compliance issues.
- Track and ensure that all shipped items get customs clearance.
- Ensure that all paperwork is updated for customs, so that No delays are experienced.
- Dealing with medical suppliers to ensure proper packaging and loading of medical devices are adhered to at all times.
- Some travel will be required.
Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months
- Have a full understanding of the timeline delivery dates.
- Implement a contact chart of all agents involved with shipping, packaging, freight forwarders etc…with alternatives.
- Have a basic understanding of all medical devices being shipped.
- Have a full understanding of the different options of delivery and its length of travel.
- Have a solid track record of on time delivery of all shipments.
- Able to develop and demonstrate that a rapport has been built with all levels i.e. medical suppliers, ITD plant, Shippers, freight forwarders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma, degree or diploma in Logistics preferred.
- Operational logistics, import/export and/or customs expertise.
- Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience communicating with others from different countries and cultures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to execute, multi-task, and deliver on commitments.
- Must have strong computer skills with all Microsoft Office components.
- Bring a great attitude that inspires others.
