Position Overview
Provide Interpretation and Translation services for Kallo staff, as needed. Groups you will support include Corporate Communications, Sales, Marketing, Clinical team members, and Technical staff.
Accountabilities
- Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken or written language to another.
- Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussions.
- Relay concepts and ideas between languages.
- Convert written materials from one language into another, such as proposals, publications, contracts, or web pages.
- Edit and proofread text to accurately reflect language.
- Translate languages at meetings, in person or virtually, such as client and suppliers meetings, training sessions, conferences, interviews, etc.
- Interpret medical, technical, and legal terminology, as well as colloquial language.
- Accompany foreign visitor and facilitate communication between receiving party and visitors, including media
- Adapt a product or service for use in a different language and culture.
Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months
- Provide accurate and timely interpretation and/or translation, as needed.
- Conduct proactive research on idiosyncrasies of local languages and phrases in countries where Kallo provides services.
- Learn local culture and customs in each location where Kallo operates.
Qualifications and Requirements
- University degree in Translation Studies or a related discipline (University Degree/College Diploma/Master’s Degree) with a minimum of 5 years translation experience.
- Perfectly bilingual in both English and French, oral and written.
- Disciplined, precise, organized with excellent interpersonal skills. Adaptable, flexible, capable to work effectively under stress.
- Experience in the healthcare field a definite asset.
- CTTIC certification is an asset.
- Capable of working independently, strong initiative, professional and big picture orientation.
- Ability to travel (up to 30%) and flexibility of schedule required.
