Position Overview
Reporting to the President & COO, the Vice President - Operations will be responsible for leading Kallo’s global operations. The Vice President of global operations will plan, direct, and control the activities of the Operations function of Kallo.

Responsible for the performance of all Department functions – Internal IT, Professional Services, Procurement, Production, Global Response Center, Quality Management and Flight Operations.

Accountabilities

  • Reviews and approves plans for the control of budget spending across the various departments.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Provides direct reports with strategic vision & direction as related to the operations of the organization.
  • Presents monthly reports on performance to the President & COO and Chairman & CEO.
  • Develops and presents to the President & COO matters requiring executive decisions.
  • Develops and recommends the implementation of corporate operations policy within the Operations Department.
  • Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the organization in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.
  • Reviews and approves initiatives involving major functional changes within the Departments functional areas.
  • Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility.
  • Keeps the Operations team informed on company/department plans and progress.
  • Coordinates activities of the Operations department with other business units. Leads the effort of resolving inter-departmental issues.
  • Consults with all segments of executive leadership responsible for policy or action.
  • Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities.
  • Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures.
  • Reviews, endorses or revises budget proposals from direct reports.
  • Submits budget for assigned activities and initiatives in accordance with budget procedures. Approves budget expenses up-to the authorized amounts.
  • Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed
  • Provides orientation and on the job training for subordinates and ensures that the authority and responsibility for each position are well defined and understood.
  • Ensures that duties, responsibilities, and authority, accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.

Key Deliverables during First 12 to 24 Months

  • Defines and recommends objectives in each area of Operations. Develops specific short, mid and long-term plans and programs aligned with Kallo’s strategic vision and global initiatives, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Reviews and approves initiatives involving major functional changes within the Departments functional areas.
  • Reviews and approves the setting of budgets throughout the Operations Department.
  • Reviews and approves the implementation of organizational plans that support the Operations Master plan.
  • Develops specific annual objectives for direct reports and evaluates performance on a regular basis.
  • Selects and retains qualified individuals for all positions reporting directly and provides recommendations regarding their compensation, working with HR.
  • Directs, monitors and appraises the performance of business units immediately reporting and provides the necessary guidance and oversight as related to the interworking of departments within the Operations function.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps, training needs and initiates development plans.
  • Ensure compliance within the Operations department.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Business discipline.
  • Affiliation with successful global Information technology and /or Manufacturing companies.
  • Sound administrative skills, well –developed management skills, principals and people management experience.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing with profitability and growth.
  • A minimum of 12 years in senior leadership position (Vice President, Director, Senior Director) in a manufacturing or information technology operations role.
  • Global experience.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
  • Participative management style that advocates team concept.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to establish credibility and decisiveness with the ability to recognize and support Kallo’s preferences and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and Kallo office locations, as required.
